"Teachers in Discourse"

 

    Welcome to "All Things Considered Rhetorical!" This blog is dedicated to two main purposes: Discussing English teaching-related issues, especially those that involve the teaching of high school students and exploring some of the issues that involve how we, as teachers, communicate with each other, parents, administrators, and--last, but not least--our students.

     I have been teaching for 29 years; the past 12 have been as a high school English teacher. Both my bachelor's and a master's degrees are in special education, but I'm working on a second graduate degree in Rhetoric, Writing, and Digital Media Studies at Northern Arizona University. My primary focus at NAU  right now is teaching as a "discourse community."
